Dillon Dodson, RSW, MSW - Veterinary Social Work

Since childhood, Dillon has been passionate about the healing power of animals, integrating them into her 15+ years of clinical social work experience across community mental health, private practice, and human shelters. She holds a Master’s in Social Work from the University of Toronto and specialized certifications in trauma, empathetic distress recovery, and veterinary social work. Dillon is Vice President of the International Association of Veterinary Social Workers, cochair of the Canadian Violence Link, an adjunct lecturer at the University of Toronto and recipient of the 2023 Distinguished Social Worker award from the Ontario Association of Social workers. Her extensive experience supporting marginalized communities through animal-assisted practices led to her role as Director of Social Work at Toronto Humane Society, where she is Ontario’s first resident social worker embedded in animal welfare.
