Éric Vallencourt, MSW, RSW

Éric Vallencourt grew up in Granby, a small town in Quebec. Even as a teenager, his talent for listening was apparent. People naturally sought him out to confide in them, sensing his ability to welcome and empathize.

In 1990, the Université de Sherbrooke awarded him a degree in social work. His career took him to various CLSCs, where he worked with young people. He has worked with families and children in primary and secondary schools. He has worked in youth mental health, community action, rehabilitation centers for the visually impaired, child psychiatry and youth protection.

Today, he works in a GMF-U on Montreal's South Shore. The challenges of social work don't scare him. He considers this profession one of the greatest gifts of his life, where reciprocity becomes the very heart of intervention.
